The GIS Cloud Services Engineer supports the development of leading-edge cloud based, global infrastructure and also provides support services to our clients. This is an exciting opportunity to utilize your outstanding technical knowledge and superior client support skills to provide hosting infrastructure, software solutions and interface with our customers to make their project successful.

The variety of project work enables you to use your software development, database engineering, GIS expertise, and project management skills in a number of commercial and government markets. The position is based at our headquarters in Redlands, California.

Job Duties:
• Design, develop and implement customized systems and solutions for clients using number of leading GIS software vendors.
• Work closely with project managers, consultants, account managers, marketing staff, U.S. Government clients, and other contractors to analyze problems, define requirements, and develop solutions.
• Provide technical consulting and support to customers.
• Document all work performed at client sites for future reference.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a U.S. government security clearance.
• Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, GIS, or a related field.
• Experience working with GIS server software including GeoServer, Mapserver, ArcGIS Server, GeoMedia, etc.
• Working knowledge of geospatial data production workflows and procedures.
• Experience with Oracle, SQL Server 2008, PostgreSQL and other RDBMS with Spatial extensions.
• Web Server implementation methodology, configurations, and maintenance; including IIS and Apache.
• Experience working in an applications development environment including expertise in Java, .NET, Python, Flex, JavaScript, and/or Silverlight.
• Knowledge of virtualization platforms based on Hypervisor (Xen, Hyper-V) and OS virtualization.
• Detail knowledge of UNIX/Linux OS installation and support.
• Knowledge of Windows Servers OS and Active Directory administration.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
• Self starter attitude with enthusiasm for learning.
• Ability to travel domestically as needed, primarily within region.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with other industry-standard technologies such as REST, SOAP, XML, Web services, application servers, and/or Web servers.
• Data modeling and UML experience.
• Experience working with ZFS based NAS and SAN storage systems with vast amount of data manipulation.
• Knowledge of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) technology and administration.
• Knowledge of advanced networking, systems maintenance, administration and monitoring.
• Firewall and security implementation standards and best practices.
• Previous technical leadership of a project development team.
• Experience with software estimating, planning, and progress tracking.
