Design: Mpow 059 Headphones

Despite its low-cost materials, the Mpow is ruggedly built. The headset withstands being dropped and tossed around with only some minor scrapes to show for it. On the inside of the headset, everything is nice and comfortable. The ears are nicely cushioned with leather and provide a snug fit resulting in no sound leakage. The Mpow 059 sits very stable on the head, even during extended periods of time.

The headband is extremely flexible and can also be adjusted to your liking. The headset comes with a variety of control buttons on top of it. These included next track, previous, power button, play, volume up, volume down and call. These buttons end up making one of the headphone cups a little heavier.

But for average users, this should not be a major issue. In fact, we would be surprised if you noticed. The headphones have a very compact folding profile and will fit comfortably into most backpack side pockets. The Mpow059 comes with its own silk carrying pouch that can fit the headphones and cables.

Features: Mpow 059 Headphones

The headphones comes equipped with a 420mAH rechargeable battery. The headset does need to be plugged in for a fair amount to fully charge up. To reach its full capacity, you will need to charge the battery for roughly 4 hours. This may be a bit of a problem if you’re looking to travel a lot with these.

But once you get it going, the Mpow can give a battery life of 14 hours on average. The headset has a wireless range of about 10m (33 feet). In some obstructed environments, the range does drop down a little bit and audio can regularly cut out. But for the most part, you will be fine using it for indoor use.

You always have the option of plugging the gaming headset directly into the computer or console with the provided 3.5mm cable saving battery life. However, the microphone will not work in wired mode.

Sound Quality: Mpow 059 Headphones

The sound quality of the Mpow 059 is surprisingly good. For a budget headset, the sounds are all in reasonably balanced audio ranges. The bass is not especially booming or too overpowering. The call quality is very clean, voices sound crisp and distinguishable. The Mpow also provides a passive noise cancellation feature for noisy environments, like streets and subways. Great for gaming during travel.

Conclusion and Amazon Reviews (Pros and Con’s)

The Mpow is a great inexpensive headset for calls, music, and podcasts. It’s pleasing to look at, has a great battery life, and a decent range of features. With premium sounds for a less than the premium price tag, the Mpow 059 Bluetooth headphone is easily the best wireless gaming headset under $50.
